Dart Wand Module

Overview:End users can easily install, configure, and manage thousands of DartTags. The DartTag is a small, battery-powered, ultra-wideband wireless device that periodically transmits its unique ID, typically used in asset management applications. DartTags are configured using low-frequency (LF) wireless transmissions. The DartWand module transmits LF commands to the DartTag to turn the tag off/on and set its reporting rate. In turn, the DartWand module receives command acknowledgments from the DartTag via its UWB channel. The DartWand module is powered by a USB connector and controlled by the included DartWand application software. A typical DartWand module system consists of a computer with the DartWand software installed, the DartWand module with the included USB cable, and an optional barcode scanner.

  • End users can easily install, configure, and manage thousands of DartTags.

The DartWand application generates a list of tag configurations by manual file entry, scanning a barcode on each tag or tag pack list, and finding tags within LF transmission range (typically 2 feet in front of the module). The DartWand module can be configured with any number of DartTag tags within its LF range, up to 100 at a time.

The DartWand allows the tags to be turned on or off, and also allows you to select the frequency at which the tags flash. The DartTags can be programmed in 12-step iterations, from 0.01 Hz (flashing every 75 seconds) to 200 Hz (flashing every 0.005 seconds). The DartWand is sold with a Windows application that supports retrying commands and transmitting confirmation messages to ensure that the target DartTag has been properly configured.
